Michael Jackson Comes to Walnut Creek
“MJ Splash – an Aquatic Tribute to the King of Pop”
Themed swim show full of Olympic, National, and International Champions
When you think of Michael Jackson, the first thing that comes to mind is his unique dancing ability that seemed to defy the laws of gravity as he would glide effortlessly across the stage. But of the many talents that defined him as a great entertainer it was his undeniable musical talent, that spanned across decades and which we have all come to love. Although his life ended far too soon, his memory will live on through the Aquanuts’ aquatic tribute to one of the greatest entertainers ever.
After participating in the 2011 National and International Championships, the Aquanuts are back in Walnut Creek for their annual synchronized swim show. Full of medals and dazzling routines, the Aquanuts will pay tribute as they perform a Michael Jackson inspired aquatic show nightly starting on Thursday, September 1st through Sunday, September 4th at Clarke Memorial Swim Center in Walnut Creek. The cast boasts nearly 100 swimmers, from the youngest, six to eight year old “Peanut” group, to the oldest and most decorated Aquanuts, who are currently the reigning Junior National Champions. Highlights will include performances by members of the USA 11-12, 13-15 and Junior and Senior National Teams.
You can expect dazzling lights, spectacular costumes, an unbelievable stage, acrobatics, contortion, and of course plenty of splash, all mimicking the beat of your favorite Michael Jackson hits. “My goal is to create a show that excites any audience and makes you want to come back every night,” said Kim Probst, WCA Head Coach and 2008 Olympian.
The swim show takes place four nights only, September 1st through September 4that the Clarke Memorial Swim Center, Heather Farm Park, Walnut Creek. Show Times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 1st and Friday, Saturday & Sunday, September 2nd through 4th at 8:00 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes prior to show time nightly.
